About The CfD Hub: data sources and method
What this site is, where every figure comes from, and how the forward-looking numbers are produced.
The CfD Hub draws project-level data from the Low Carbon Contracts Company, under the Open Government Licence, to present output, output-weighted strike prices and net flow on an aggregated and filtered basis — by technology, by nation, by auction round. Per-project data is presented in both map and tabular form.
Forward output projections, which the forward output-weighted strike prices depend on, assume start dates and capacities are delivered as per the LCCC data: that every project proceeds on schedule and none are terminated. Future output is projected using empirical observed load factors where they exist and published default assumed load factors otherwise.
Forward figures are shown in real terms rather than nominal, because a nominal projection would require a CPI forecast that this site deliberately does not produce.
612 CfD contracts are in the register: 88 operational, 473 not yet generating and 51 terminated. The 561 live contracts hold 49.8 GW of contracted capacity across 12 technologies and allocation rounds AR1, AR2, AR3, AR4, AR5, AR6, AR7, BC, IC. Settlement data runs to 6 August 2026.
